Bu tip cümleleri bağlarken if bağlacı kullanılmaz, soru kelimesi kullanılır.

-He says to me "Where do you live?"

  He asks me              where I live.
       wants to know



-They say to her "Why are the children shouting?"
                   
 They ask her            why the children are shouting.
         want to know



-She says to him "When will the school open?"
            
 She asks him            when the school will open.             
        wants to know



-They say to me "How much money have you got?"
 
  They ask me             how much money I have got.
