Gerunds and Infinitives

b) Infinitives (Mastarlar)

Infinitive, fiilin başına "to" ekleyerek elde edilir. Bir infinitive, aynı gerund gibi isimleşmiş bir fiildir. İstemek anlamına gelen want fiili ile yapmayı arzu ettiğimiz şeyleri belirtmek için fiilerin infinitive şeklinde isimleşmiş yani "to" almış halini kullanırız.  

example: "to go" (gitmek), "to read" (okumak)

Examples (Örnekler):

1) I want to see you.

2) I want to swim in the lake.

3) I want to visit my grandparents.

4) We  don't want to do this job.

5) We want to play football now.

6) He wants to write to hisfriend.

7) They want to watch television.

8) Why do you want to go to London?

9) She wants to go to London next year.

10) I want to see Topkapı Palace this weekend.
