Limited to a small stretch of the Yangteze River
and
a few tributaries, this is perhaps
the most endangered
member of the alligator family.
As few as 300 might be
all that remain in the wild.
Threats: Habitat loss due to development, before
that
poachers went after
their skins and other body
parts.
