In a study on starting school, an
educational psychologist has found that fewer children are getting stressed about it.
So has starting back at school
got easier for you the older you've got?
Perhaps your school is good at
helping you settle in - or you like school so you're happy to go back...
Or do you find that it really
stresses you out?
Whatever you feel, e-mail and
let us know.
I went
back to school today and I didn't like it. It didn't feel right, it felt like a totally
different school even though I've been there for two years.
Michelle, 13, Huddersfield
Today
was so stressing I snapped at my best bud for nothing!! It's ok though, I'll calm down
when I settle, but with all the coursework coming my way, it's a bit disturbing.
Amy, 14, Nottinghamshire
Yes, I
get stressed out a bit, especially this year because we're studying all the options we
chose and some of the lessons I've never even done before! (like Drama!) so it's a bit
scary, but I think once I get into the rhythm of it, it should be fun.
Amanda, 14, Manchester
Why get
stressed or upset at going back to school? You've got to do it anyway, might as well do it
in a good mood!
Hazel,, 13, Cambridge
It will
be my first day at high school and I there's only one other girl from my school but I
can't wait! Ever since making friends at the induction day I'm really looking forward to
going, but I'm a bit nervous about the bus.
Holly, 11, Great Missenden
I get
nervous when going back to school, but it gets ok after a few weeks when you get used to
it.
Nazia, 13, Wolverhampton
I'm
never nervous or worried. I've been going to my school for two years. Why should the first
day back be different from any other day?
Juliette, 13, Cardiff
It is
not a bit stressful really. I am anxious to see my friends, and if anyone has had a
drastic change or something. But, the stress is not really dawning on anyone in my school.
But people about to go into the next school will feel stressed.
Eleanor, 11, Milton Keynes
I love
going back to school and seeing all my friends - especially this year because we're doing
our options.
Jodie, 14, Preston
I can't
wait to go back to school!! I'm starting to get a bit bored now, so it'll be nice to go
back and see everyone again.
Katie, 13, Birmingham
I'm
usually fine going back to school but this year I've been much more stressed. I'll only be
back for a few weeks before I start mock GCSE's and with the amount of work we get it's
impossible to relax even at the weekends!
Jenny, 15, Manchester
I
usually get stressed out and irritable for the first few weeks, then I relax a bit. I
remind myself that I will be seeing my friends that I don't get to see over the summer.
James, 14, London
I'm not
stressed about going back, I just don't want to!
Amy, 13, Coventry
I get
stressed when I think oh no loads of homework and maths and stuff but after a few weeks I
just go with the flow!
Sulman, 12, Grangetown
Exams
are the worst, but school in general can be very stressful but after a while it doesn't
seem so bad, you just have to give it time.
Amy, 14, Pontypridd
Yes I'm
VERY stressed out about starting year 8 in a new school that I've even had nightmares
about it! The things that really worry me are making new friends and not knowing anyone.
I'm really, really dreading going back to school.
Layla, 12, London
I like
everything about school except the lessons!
Latoutan, 14, Birmingham
Occasionally
it does, but not often. This year it has because I'm starting secondary school - but I
found talking about it helped.
Tilly, 11, Bexhill-On-Sea
I think
that when I go to school I feel very anxious but when I get there I am not stressed.
Emily, 12, London
I
always get a bit anxious when I think about it as it's a new year - but I'm usually fine
when I get there.
Jack,
13, Blackburn
